Letter From the CEO

Welcome to Sebring SpeedTour! We’re glad to be back at historic Sebring International Raceway, where the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli and International GT Series are launching their 2020 race seasons. In addition, hundreds of SVRA vintage racers have gathered from around the globe to challenge the high-speed, 3.74-mile, 17-turn airport road course.

Our Grand Marshal this year is legendary Brian Redman, three-time winner of the Daytona 24 Hour, two-time winner of the Sebring 12 Hour, three-time Formula 5000 Champion and 1981 IMSA GT Champion.

Our Sebring paddocks are rich with history, showcasing racing icons from Alfa Romeo, Camaro, MG, Cobra, Ferrari, Lola, McLaren, Jaguar, Mustang and Porsche, among many more exotic marques.

In addition, over 30 authentically-prepared Historic Trans-Am cars from around the country have gathered for a Reunion at Sebring, where on March 25, 1966 the Trans-Am Series began. This weekend showcases the traditions and evolution of Trans-Am from its original format as a Manufacturers Championship for modified “pony cars” to its contemporary form as a Drivers Championship in GT cars.

This year we are live streaming the event. You’re invited to download the free Trans Am and SVRA apps for your Apple or Android devices, to get minute-by-minute coverage.

In addition to great racing, on Saturday, the Hagerty Cars and Caffeine car show will display some of the best classic and exotic cars in Florida. On Sunday, meet the drivers and examine the cars during the Fan Walk just before the start of the Historic Trans-Am Reunion Race. Anytime during the weekend, be sure to check out all the goodies on display in Vendor Row.

SVRA dates back to the Kendall Grand Prix, a vintage race held in 1976 as part of the annual 12 Hours of Sebring. From an initial membership of 25 enthusiasts who got together in 1978 to form one of the oldest vintage racing organizations, SVRA has grown to become the premier vintage racing organization in the United States, with more than 2,000 active members.

I’m thrilled to present this world-class event and to welcome drivers, fans and enthusiasts of all ages to Sebring SpeedTour. Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. Let’s go racing!
