Trans Am Returns to the Charlotte Roval After a 21-Year Hiatus

Trans Am opened its 1981 season on the high-blanked circuit with an infield road course.

Letter From the CEO

Welcome to Charlotte SpeedTour!

We’re so happy and excited to be racing at historic Charlotte Motor Speedway, and to challenge its unique 2.28-mile, 17-turn roval circuit. Cars spanning 60 years of racing and technology will be on the track and on display in the paddocks and garages. Please take this opportunity to meet the racers, crews and car owners to learn more about the racing series being celebrated this weekend.

After a 21-year absence, the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend, debuting the new Trans Am ProAm Challenge Series.

The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) showcases a variety of vintage road racing icons. Brabham, Datsun, Alfa Romeo, Lotus, Lola, Porsche and Corvette are just a few of the legendary nameplates you’ll see on the track and “up-close and personal” in the paddock.

As an extra treat, Saturday’s Car Show will display some of the best Classic and Exotic vehicles that North Carolina has to offer.

There’s something for every enthusiast at Charlotte this weekend, from gleaming Classics to legendary Stock Cars to thundering 850 hp Trans Am machines.

Whether you’re at Charlotte as a spectator, driver, crew, sponsor, race official or car show entrant, we all have an obligation to keep everyone around us safe, on and off the track. Please practice social distancing and wear a mask anytime you’re within 6 feet of another person. Our constant goal is to “make racing with us safer than going to the grocery store.”

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. Let’s go racing!
