Letter From the CEO

Welcome to the Trans Am Memorial Day Classic. We’re so happy to be back racing at Lime Rock Park. Cars spanning over 80 years of racing and technology will be on the track this weekend.

Lime Rock Park has been continuously hosting competitors since 1957 and once again, racers from around the globe have come to challenge this historic 1.53-mile, 7-turn road course.

The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli has returned to Lime Rock Park to add to its Memorial Day weekend race legacy that dates back to May 29, 1967. While Dan Gurney raced in the Indy 500, Peter Revson drove Gurney’s Cougar to a two-lap victory over Mark Donohue’s Camaro and Jerry Titus’s Mustang. Revson, Donohue and Titus filled the first Trans-Am podium at this esteemed track.

The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association showcases a variety of vintage road racing icons. Brabham, Datsun, Alfa Romeo, Lotus, Lola, Mustang and Corvette are just a few of the legendary nameplates you’ll see on the track this weekend. Rival Porsche and Ferrari racers will vie for marque dominance and bragging rights during the International GT series race. Mazda Miata is the featured marque.

In addition to great racing, there are plenty of trackside activities to enjoy. Take some time to check out the robust vendor row, enjoy a track side picnic lunch and introduce yourself to a driver. Sunday, the Royals Car Show presented by Hagerty is one of the largest and most fun car shows in the country.

Whether you’re here as a driver, crew, fan or car show entrant, we all have an obligation to keep everyone around us safe, on and off the track. Please practice social distancing and wear a mask any time you’re within 6 feet of another person. Our constant goal is to “make racing with us safer than going to the grocery store.”

On this Memorial Day weekend we honor, thank and remember all of America’s service members and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Be it learning about a unique race car, meeting a famous driver or getting a rare autograph, your visit to the Trans Am Memorial Day Classic is sure to be memorable.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. Let’s go racing!
